battery

These two days i'm searching on lithium polymer batteries and found that the min weight for the 36V batteries is 5Kg .And for 36V&20Ah the weight is 6kg.. And i also found that the chargers are not sold with them. And we have to buy thw chargers which are too costly.

and other minor sources.

P.S I think the power rating of our bot is too high. I think we should re check these calculations again.

yesterday i met with a research scholar working under power systems. he felt assuming ur calculations are correct, the config of the motor is bound to work. but he can only assume bec he has no clue about our force calculations and dynamics of our bot. sarathi was unavailable but will go again tomorrow as my phy class starts tomorrow.
ps. can someone explain the connection between extruder dynamics and our screw so that i can speak to gyanamoorthy of mds?

Damroo and XP were supposed to do the RC prototyping if im not mistaken. U guys stop doing that for the time being. Find out about how we can water-proof out motor. As far as i know , we need to use O rings or stuffing tubes. Find out more about them , their cost, how they work and where we can get them from or how we can make them. put it on the blog ASAP

im trying to look for motors. will find some tomorrow. i got a TVS motor which is 24V and 1kW. the ppl are ready to demonstrate and show. will cost about 5000. will tell about the other motors tomorrow. and yeah, we dont want to worry about the battery and the RC just yet . lets first finish the part A .Just try to find out how much the batt and RC will cost, but dont think too much about it. Our priority is finishing part A.
hey bharat nice work. we wont be scaling the model up. we keep it the same as before (60*40). So the screw specs also remain the same which would be as follows:
15 cm Diameter
3 cm depth (4.5 inner and 7.5 outer radius)
50-60 cm length( we need to optimise on the length)

do not tell the guy to make the screw just yet. find out which material the mould is. find the cost. find out how much time he will take to make it, the cost, his address and post everything up the blog.

Hi. I was surfing through this terrain twister when i came across a conversation between two persons. It ran like this;

Why the special battery?
death2cupid76 (2 weeks ago)
i have one but the remote got run over :( great toy tho :)
GaijinNH (1 month ago)
Cool toy, but this is a crappy "Requiem" remix.
AzureHoBo (2 months ago)
I have one, the RC can go on the water but the remote can't get wet or it shortcircuits.
ixzelchio (3 months ago)
it floats????? i didnt know that about my own toy..
Starfleet0 (3 months ago)
it's deffinitely more efficient in water

Really? What kind of battery is that that's needed? Where do they sell it?
Stealthy48 (4 months ago)
you need a ryco rc flex pak
atvboy11 (5 months ago)
I used to have one but it broke some how I had good terrain where I lived I could drive in and out of my pool

What is a tyco rc flex pak ?
Hi. I have contacted a peson who can make us a mould for the screw. But i do not have the exact specs of the screw. Moreover are u going to scale up the model as sugested by Erectus or keep the same. Please mail me the exact specs of the screw so that i can show it to the concerned person to get the mould.
Also tell me about the model of the screw. Are u making it big or not? Reply ASAP.

well,

I tried to meet Dr.Sarathi for discussing the motor config but he's not available. all i managed to do was get his off ph no. Ill call him and fix up an appoinment.

Guys i have no contact with any of u... please keep me updated about what u are doing.. and what work is done and what is remaining. Just post it on the blog. Maybe the others can help in some way... Im still trying to finlise the motors. will try to find what motors are available and where to get them from tomm.

@all

bijli wants me to pass on this: All of u start hunting for materials, find out and jot down anything relevant and post anything u find interesting. Try to find literature to support our calculations.

Hi everyone
First of all keep working on the things that u were supposed to do .but concentrate on getting the motor and battery specifications first. Right now our priority should be to get the motor nd batt specs. , the we have to find where to get them from( prototyping stuff can be done later on) . if u have any source, if u can speak to any prof or any engineer, pleaso do so and find out about the motors nd batt.
IC Engines CANNOT BE USED underwater so pack theat idea. concentrate only on dc motors.

Our report should contain two stages of buying things

Part A: Make the vehicle wired. Power will directly be taken from the mains. No Radio control. No battery. Hence the major components to be purchased are motors and the screws.

Part B:include the battery. Make radio control and/or automate it.

As u can see all our prototyping stuff mainly falls in part b so right now go all out on getting the motor and batt specifications. So these are the things to be done in order of priority

1)Find motor and batt specifications
2)Find where they are available
3)Make a timeline including part A and part B
4)Find out about the battery specifications and availability
5)Make a budget(seperate for part A and part B)
6)Prototype stuff as planned.
